Life on the farm;

I woke up this morning and was so pleased to feel the sun on my face as today was our first outdoor bbq of the season. In the three years I have worked here if there is one thing I have learned - if you want to get residents to an activity, you offer them alcohol. A cooler full of Coors Light (who knew it was kosher) and the stench of a Hebrew National was all it took to lure about 70 of my best buddies out from the dark shadows of their rooms... Out under that big oak tree they listened to JC (that's Johnny Cash - not Jesus Christ - ha ha) and laughed. They felt the wind on their faces and had twinkles in their eyes.

Of course it got a little big more challenging when Betty decided that she wanted to play peek-a-boo with Milt in the resident garden. Of course that was nothing compared to Celia's impersonation of her roommate Georgia; I haven't heard an armpit fart that loud since first grade.

Anyway, the drama was soon over as everyone retired back to the deep dark crevases of their rooms for afternoon naps. They need to be good and rested as Tuesday is bingo night - SWEET!

Stanley Cup Finals

Congrats to the Carolina Hurricanes for the win. I secretly was rooting for the Oilers because they were 8th in the league and then made it all the way to game 7 and I think that is awesome - plus I love Pisani who I now coin my little "Italian Meatball" as opposed to Peter Forsberg, former Av's champ who I have called my little "Swedish Meatball" for years... Anywhoodle.. I thought it was an awesome game and fun to watch right down to the wire which is the best part.

I do have to say that I get a little teary when I see them all kiss the cup.

I'm trying to decide what I would do if I could have the cup for a day - I think it may have something to do with my friend Kathy (a fellow hockey fan), beer and a lot of cruising. I'll have to think about it.

I was at a stop light yesterday when I noticed this total hotty guy in a black sportscar next to me. Now I don't know cars but I was sure this was something kind of pricey. Yeah, he must really be a lady-killer... Looks, cash - what more do you need?

Too bad I caught him picking his nose. And the worst part about it was that he didn't even look around to see if anyone was watching him.

eeewwwwwwww!

So I have take a moment to giggle as this morning as I left the house I realized that I had forgotten my wallet... so I get the three blocks down the street and have to turn around. I was off again when I realized that I also forgot my password for this and turned around again, seeing the same 3 blocks now for the forth time. By the third time I turned around to get my final piece that I needed (my friend Candace's key as I'm pet sitting for her) I realized that if you didn't know me, it may or may not look like the key wasn't the only piece I was looking for as I had now driven by a group of teenage boys holding up signs not for a carwash but an actual church bizarre - I'm sure I totally looked like the desperate thirty-something checking them out by driving by all those times. Sorry kids! I swear it was innocent. And sorry again for that last time when I realized just how creepy this actually looked as I waved to them while eating my banana. eeeewwww!
